Hey There
You might be asking yourself, "How can I be sure she will understand me and my story?" Or maybe, "What experience does she have that could apply to me?"
To those questions, I invite you to lean in to the anxiety you might feel about sharing your story with me, or any therapist for that matter. I get that coming here means you are being vulnerable. Opening up is scary. Maybe you have had bad experiences with therapists in the past, and hey, no one can blame you for being hesitant. However, deciding to come to therapy is one of the most important and effective ways to show up for yourself, even if it is terrifying.
Below, you can find out a bit more about my education and experience. Just know, I am committed to learning and growing and meeting you where you are, no matter how you show up. Trust is a crucial part in any relationship, especially a therapeutic one, and I make sure to show my clients the unconditional positive regard that everyone deserves.
The Experiences That Shaped My Practice...
I received my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) in May of 2020 from Indiana University - Bloomington, followed by my Master of Social Work (MSW) in May of 2021 from Indiana University - Indianapolis.

While studying for my BSW, I worked in transitional housing for families who were survivors of domestic violence as a Crisis Intervention Specialist. Additionally, I worked as a Behavioral Health Technician in transitional housing for teens and young adults who were homeless and/or aging out of the foster care system.

During my MSW program, I interned with Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) and received training and support from a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in an elementary school. While there, I supported students K-8th grade in classrooms, on an individual basis as well as with small groups. I coached them on emotional regulation skills, and ran a group for 5th grade boys who experienced behavioral challenges to help them develop their strengths to be successful as they move through their education. I also aided school staff by introducing and helping to facilitate avenues of feedback within the administration to ensure sufficient support was being provided to the teachers and faculty to improve their job satisfaction and retain valuable educators.

For my first 2 years post-graduation, while I was earning my hours toward full clinical licensure, I worked as a school-based therapist with a community mental health agency. I provided individual and family therapy to kids (ages 9-14) with trauma, behavioral challenges, anxiety, and depression.
I have gained invaluable knowledge from my peers, supervisors, and clients throughout all of my experiences, which I apply to my current practice, and I continue to grow as a clinician to this day.
After receiving my LCSW certification, I decided to start my own private practice to work primarily with adults, with a focus on trauma - informed therapy interventions. This brought me to get trained in EMDR, which has become an indispensable part of my practice. I use an eclectic approach to therapy, meaning I do not only use one modality or framework, but combine different styles that are determined by the needs of each client. You can read more about these on the "Treatment Methods" page.
