Hey There

You might be asking yourself, "How can I be sure she will understand me and my story?" Or maybe, "What experience does she have that could apply to me?"

To those questions, I invite you to lean in to the anxiety you might feel about sharing your story with me, or any therapist for that matter. I get that coming here means you are being vulnerable. Opening up is scary. Maybe you have had bad experiences with therapists in the past, and hey, no one can blame you for being hesitant. However, deciding to come to therapy is one of the most important and effective ways to show up for yourself, even if it is terrifying.

Below, you can find out a bit more about my education and lived experience. Just know, I am committed to learning and growing and meeting you where you are, no matter how you show up. Trust is a crucial part in any relationship, especially a therapeutic one, and I make sure to show my clients the unconditional positive regard that everyone deserves.

The Experiences That Shaped My Practice...

Like many others, I have experienced my own journey with mental health and trauma, beginning in early childhood. It wasn’t until high school—when I was diagnosed with an eating disorder, generalized anxiety, depression, and later, complex PTSD—that I truly began to understand the depth of these experiences. Accessing mental health care as a junior in high school was a pivotal turning point for me, especially because my therapist—who was openly queer and in recovery from an eating disorder herself—helped me feel seen and understood in ways I hadn’t before. Her impact inspired me to pursue a career in mental health care.

Through my education in social work, I came to understand just how fortunate I was to receive the care I did—and how many individuals, especially those from marginalized communities, lack access to similar support. This awareness continues to ground and guide my work today.

I earned my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) in May 2020 from Indiana University Bloomington, followed by my Master of Social Work (MSW) in May 2021 from Indiana University Indianapolis.

While completing my BSW, I worked as a Crisis Intervention Specialist in transitional housing for families who had survived domestic violence. I also served as a Behavioral Health Technician in a transitional program for teens and young adults experiencing homelessness or aging out of the foster care system.

During my MSW program, I interned with Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS), supporting students in an elementary school setting under the supervision of a licensed clinical social worker. I worked with students from kindergarten through eighth grade—providing individual support, facilitating small groups focused on emotional regulation, and leading a strengths-based group for fifth-grade boys with behavioral challenges. Additionally, I collaborated with school staff to introduce feedback mechanisms for administration, helping ensure teachers and faculty received the support they needed to thrive in their roles.

After graduating, I spent two years as a school-based therapist with a community mental health agency, providing individual therapy to students in grades 4 through 6, along with family therapy services. These formative experiences—alongside the mentorship of peers, supervisors, and the wisdom of my clients—have deeply shaped the clinician I am today.

Since earning my LCSW, I’ve transitioned into private practice, where I now primarily serve adults. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care, and I’m continually learning and growing in service of my clients and community.
